Hand in hand, standard protective car mats for dogs, neat and effective, only look like new in pictures on the Internet.
How they really look in practice, how practical they are, whether they really protect the seats, I saw firsthand. I talked to users of such seat mats and photographed what I saw. These are their impressions and pictures, and a picture speaks louder than words:
The only and basic purpose that such a car mat for dogs should fulfill is to protect the seats from dirt. Except this is not the case, the mat for car seats brings with it additional problems regarding maintenance and practicality of application. These and similar car mats neither protect the seats from dirt nor can they themselves be kept clean and tidy.
Since I haven't found an adequate solution for protecting the seat in my car, and I often travel with my dog, I use a practical one roll up travel bed for a dog.

When we go on short trips, my muzzle Vigo and I bring a few things that are practical and useful for us. One of them is a roll up travel bed that we also use in the car.
